Terms and Conditions
Last updated at the start of autumn. Plain language is intentional: these are rules for using the website, not a trap.
Agreement to these terms
By browsing, submitting a form to, or using any feature of healthbalanceharmony.com you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site; you are of course still welcome as a patient through the normal channels of telephone, post or an in-person visit.
Who may use the site
The website is for general use. Forms that create bookings or enquiries are intended for adults aged eighteen and over, or for a parent, guardian or authorised carer acting on behalf of someone else. If you use the site on another person's behalf, you confirm you are authorised to do so and that the information you give us is accurate.
Not a substitute for clinical care
Everything published here — articles, service descriptions, symptom guidance, blog content and FAQs — is general health information. It is written by clinicians but it cannot examine you, know your history or consider the medicines you already take. It is not a diagnosis, a prescription, or a treatment plan.
If this is an emergency, do not use this website. For chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden weakness or confusion, severe bleeding, anaphylaxis, overdose or any life-threatening situation, call emergency services immediately. Never delay or dismiss professional advice because of something you read here.
No treatment relationship is created online
Sending us a message does not by itself make you a patient, and does not create a clinician-patient relationship. Registration is completed when we confirm it, usually after identity and eligibility checks. Until then, treat our reply as general signposting rather than clinical instruction.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the site for anything unlawful, or to harass, threaten, defame or impersonate anyone
- Submit another person's personal information without their permission, or knowingly false information
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access, scan for vulnerabilities, or overload the site with automated requests
- Insert malicious code, or interfere with how the pages render for other people
- Copy, mirror, resell or systematically scrape content for a competing publication without our written consent
- Post health claims, product promotions or affiliate links through our forms
Accuracy of our content
We write carefully, review what we publish and correct it when it is wrong. Medicine changes, and guidance dated as current can age quickly. We do not promise that every page is complete or up to date at the moment you read it, and we may revise content at any time without notice. If you spot something that looks out of date, tell us and we will look at it — that is genuinely useful to us.
Appointments and cancellations
- Appointment times are provisional until we confirm them.
- Please give reasonable notice when you need to cancel or move a visit, so the slot can go to someone who is unwell.
- Repeated missed appointments may lead to a conversation about how to make care work for you, and in some cases to a review of how we schedule you — not to a withdrawal of urgent care.
- We may need to change the clinician, the location or the appointment type; if the change is material we will offer you alternatives.
- Telehealth is offered where clinically appropriate. If a video consultation is not safe for your symptoms, we will tell you and arrange an in-person assessment.
Fees, insurance and billing
Prices shown anywhere on this site are indicative and may change; your individual costs depend on your plan, the treatment actually needed and any pre-authorisation obtained. You remain responsible for charges relating to your care, including amounts an insurer declines to cover. We will always try to tell you what something will cost before it happens, but we cannot guarantee a benefit decision made by a third-party insurer. Payment arrangements, deposits and financing are governed by the paperwork you sign at the practice, which prevails over anything on the website.
Your content and our content
The site design, text, photographs, illustrations and logos belong to Health Balance Harmony or to contributors who have licensed them to us. You may read, download a personal copy and share links freely. You may not republish substantial parts of the site commercially, or present our material as your own, without written permission.
Anything you send us through a form — questions, feedback, descriptions of symptoms — stays yours. We use it to respond, and, where relevant, to inform your record. If you send us an idea for improving our service, you are welcome to; we may use such feedback without owing compensation.
Third-party links and tools
Some pages link to insurers, government guidance, mapping services or partner sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices or availability. Any mention of a product, service or plan is not an endorsement, and we accept no payment for placements on this website.
Availability of the site
We aim for the site to be available at all times but do not promise uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance may occur, and no website is immune from faults, network outages or attacks beyond our reasonable control. Never rely on the website as your only route to us in an urgent situation — telephone is faster and more reliable when it matters.
Disclaimers
The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all representations and warranties, express or implied, including those of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the site will be error-free or that defects will be corrected. Nothing here excludes warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Liability
Where the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss of data arising from your use of the site. Our liability for any claim connected to this website is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Clinical care provided to you as a patient is governed by our professional duties and the terms of your treatment records, not by these website terms.
Indemnity
If you use the site in a way that breaches these terms or applicable law, and that causes us loss, damage or liability, you agree to compensate us for it to the extent the law allows.
Suspension of access
We may restrict, suspend or end access to features of the website where we reasonably believe it is needed to protect patients, staff, security, or the integrity of our systems — including after a breach of these terms. We will always keep your clinical care and your records available to you by ordinary means, whatever happens to a website function.
Reporting a breach
If you discover a security weakness, a page that exposes someone's data, or content you believe infringes your rights, tell us at contact@healthbalanceharmony.com. We investigate reports promptly and will not pursue a researcher who acts in good faith and does not disrupt services or access other people's data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our services, technology or the law change. The revision note at the top of this page shows when that last happened, and the version in force is the one published when you use the site. For material changes affecting patients with ongoing care, we will also give a heads-up through normal communication channels.
Severability and waivers
If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect and the offending clause is read as narrowly as needed to survive. If we do not enforce a clause on one occasion, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and any dispute relating to this website is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in San Diego County, California, save where mandatory consumer rules give you the protection of the law where you live. Nothing here stops you complaining to your local consumer or health regulator.
